Groundnut and Sunfl ower move down

Downtrend prevailed in the market during the past week under
review. Groundnut and Sunflower oils eased lower by over 2%
each, while Cottonseed oil was down by just under a percent.
Rapeseed and Linseed oils gain marginally, while Castor and
Sesame oils held firm. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein
was down by over 2%, crude Palm fell by over a percent and
crude degummed Soyabean was cheaper by over 3%. In solvent
extracted oils, Soyabean was down by over 3%, Rice brans fell
marginally and Neem oil remained steady. Comparing the prices
of some of the oils over the same period last year, groundnut is
cheaper by 9%. Rapeseed is costlier by 29%, while linseed is
costlier by 32% and sunflower is up by 49%. Sesame is cheaper
by 3% and castor is costlier by 16%, while cottonseed is costlier
by 34%. Neem is costlier by a percent.
