Vegetable Oil Market

Sunfl ower, Linseed and Cottonseed rule lower

Downtrend prevailed in the market during the past week under
review. Groundnut oil was down by over a percent, while Rapeseed
and Linseed oils eased lower by around 2% each. Sunfl ower and
Cottonseed oils were cheaper by almost 4%. Sesame and Castor
oils remained steady. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein and
crude Palm moved down by over a percent, while crude degummed
Soyabean ruled lower by 3.74%. In solvent extracted oils, Soyabean
was down by almost 3%, while Rice brans were cheaper by about
4%. Comparing the prices of some of the oils over the same period
last year, groundnut is costlier by 3% and sunfl ower is down by 37%.
Rapeseed is down by 29% and linseed is cheaper by 32%. Sesame
is costlier by 7%. Castor is cheaper by 16%, while cottonseed is
cheaper by 33%.
