Vegetable Oil Market

Linseed and Castor fi rm up

Mixed trends prevailed in the market during the past week
under review. Linseed oil gained almost 8% and Castor oil
moved up by 5%. Sesame, Rapeseed and Cottonseed oils were
cheaper by around 2%. Groundnut and Sunfl ower oils moved
up marginally. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein was down
by over a percent, while crude Palm gained by 1.25%. Crude
degummed Soyabean remained steady. In solvent extracted
oils, Soyabean was up marginally, while Rice brans were
down by about 1.30%. Comparing the prices of some of the oils
over the same period last year, groundnut is costlier by 2% and
sunfl ower is down by 33%. Rapeseed is down by 27% and linseed
is cheaper by 30%. Sesame is costlier by 7%. Castor is cheaper
by 15%, while cottonseed is cheaper by 30%.
