Pharma industry converges in Barcelona for annual

in attendance at the CPHI Barcelona on
October 24-26, as the Informa Markets-
organised trade show once again pro-
vided a platform for the global pharma
industry to network and forging part-
nerships. As in the previous years, the
event attracted personnel from the en-
tire pharma industry value chain – right
from manufacturers and sellers of raw
materials and finished pharmaceutical
products, equipment, machinery &
packaging firms to contract develop-
ment and manufacturing organisations
(CDMOs) and research-focussed com-
panies. More than 170 countries were
represented at the event with the host
country Spain leading with the highest
number of attendees, followed closely
by India, the DACH region, China, Italy,
the UK, and the USA.

This year the changing competitive
environment was palpable. Fuelled by
advances in technology and biomedi-
cal sciences, along with unprecedented
global, political, and economic forces,

vation, adaptation, and strategic col-
laboration are essential for progress.
