Vegetable Oil Market

Groundnut gains; Linseed and Sunfl ower also up

Uptrend prevailed in the market during the past week under
review. Groundnut oil moved up by over 3.50%, while Linseed
and Cottonseed oils gained over 2%. Rapeseed and Sunfl ower oils
fi rmed up by over 1.50%. Castor oil was up marginally, while
Sesame oil remained steady. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein,
crude Palm and crude degummed Soyabean moved up in the
range of 1-1.50%. In solvent extracted oils, Soyabean was up
by over 1.50%, Rice brans gained in the range of 2-3.50% and
Neem oil remained unmoved. Comparing the prices of some of the
oils over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper by 1%.
Rapeseed is costlier by 37%, while linseed is costlier by 43% and
sunfl ower is up by 61%. Sesame is cheaper by 3%. Castor is costlier
by 9%, and cottonseed is costlier by 48%.
