Vegetable Oil Market

Rapeseed and Linseed rise; Sunfl ower slips

Mixed trend prevailed in the market during the past week under
review. Rapeseed oil was up by around 3%, while Linseed oil
gained about 1.50%. Sunfl ower oil eased down by 1.50%, while
Cottonseed oil dropped marginally. Groundnut, Sesame and
Castor oils remained steady. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein
and crude Palm fell by around 2% and crude degummed
Soyabean was cheaper by a percent. In solvent extracted oils,
Soyabean fi rmed up by almost 6%, Rice brans remained steady
and Neem oil fell marginally. Comparing the prices of some of
the oils over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper by
6%. Rapeseed is costlier by 27%, while linseed and sunfl ower are
costlier by 36%. Sesame is cheaper by 3% and castor is costlier
by 27%. Cottonseed is costlier by 32%. Neem is cheaper by 2%.
