SNF Flopam India, a subsidiary of France-based polyacrylamide specialist, has announced the receipt of a Rs. 547-crore contract from ONGC for its Mehsana Asset in Gujarat. The company said contract pertains to the “hiring of polymer injection facilities – phase 2” at ONGC’s Bechraji Field (GGS-I), which will significantly enhance viscous oil recovery and support ONGC’s long-term production strategy.
The project covers the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and operation of polymer flooding facilities over a 10-year period. The scope of the work includes:
· Polymer injection into 38 wells in an inverted 5-spot pattern.
· Supply and operation of polymer injection skids, hydration units, pumping systems, utilities, and complete pipeline networks.
· Full Operation & Maintenance (O&M) including polymer and other chemicals, manpower, spares, monitoring systems, and utilities.
· Creation of complete surface facilities at a dedicated site near Bechraji GGS-I.
“This project reinforces SNF’s leadership in Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (CEOR) technology and marks a significant milestone in India’s efforts to maximise output from mature oil fields and to minimise import dependency of crude oil,” the company informed in a press note.
“This project is a game-changing milestone for SNF in India. Our polymer technologies have improved oil recovery in many parts of the world, and we are proud to bring this capability to ONGC at such a large scale,” commented Mr. Pascal Remy, Chairman & CEO, SNF Group.
“This is one of the largest polymer flooding projects in the country and reflects SNF’s technical strength, operational excellence, and the trust built with ONGC,” said Mr. Shital Khot, Chairman & Managing Director, SNF Flopam India.
