Eastern India’s pioneering lithium-ion battery recycling and refurbishment company, NavPrakriti, has signed an initial pact with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur to advance battery recycling, research, and skill development in support of India’s clean energy ambitions.
As India aims for 500-GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and net zero emissions, the need for robust battery recycling, resource circularity, and skilled talent has never been greater. The MoU aims to address these priorities through a multi-pronged approach, encompassing student internship programs, joint research projects, skill development and capacity building initiatives, as well as technological consulting projects focused on refining and refurbishment of end-of-life batteries.
“By integrating our industrial experience with the academic excellence of IIT Kharagpur, we’re not just advancing the science of battery recycling but also creating unique learning opportunities for India’s next generation of engineers and innovators,” said Mr. Akhilesh Bagaria, Co-Founder, NavPrakriti.
