Azelis, the Belgium-based distributor of speciality chemicals and food ingredients, has announced a new distribution partnership with French diary giant Lactalis for the pharmaceuticals & healthcare market in India.

Azelis will now distribute Lactalis Ingredients Pharma’s Lactalpha a range of milled and sieved lactose monohydrate across India, further strengthening its portfolio for oral solid dosage formulations.

The Lactalpha range includes milled and sieved low-nitrite lactose suitable for wet and dry granulation, as well as dry-blending production. It is suitable for oral solid dosage forms such as tablets, sachets, and capsules and is compliant with Ph. Eur., USP-NF, and JP standards.

“India is an important market for Lactalis’s pharmaceutical lactose business, and we were looking for a partner with strong local market knowledge, technical capabilities, and established customer relationships in the pharmaceutical sector. Through this partnership with Azelis, we aim to expand access to the Lactalpha range and support customers with reliable, high-quality lactose solutions for oral solid dosage applications,” said Mr. Nicolas Barachon, Business Development Director Pharmaceutical Lactose, Lactalis.

Ms. Aparna Khurana, Managing Director India and Market Segment Director Personal Care and Home Care & Industrial Cleaning APAC, Azelis, added, “Lactalis’ pharmaceutical lactose expertise, combined with Azelis’s strong customer relationships, technical support, and local presence, will deliver enhanced value and formulation support to customers across the Indian pharmaceutical industry.”
